About Ryan

I write speculative fiction. Isn't all fiction speculative? What I really mean is that I write science fiction, fantasy, horror, dark fantasy - a whole bunch of genre labels. Writing under different pen names gives me the opportunity to create recognizable genre brands. For example, when someone picks up a Tennessee Hicks story or novel the name suggests dark or urban fantasy in contrast to the adventure fantasy of a Michael Burges story. When something falls more into a horror vein it comes out under R.M. Haag while science fiction is released under Ryan M. Williams. In the future I may add other names as I explore new territories. Many of my stories and novels are available through Glittering Throng Press as ebooks and in trade paperback. I've also sold stories to On Spec Magazine, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 9, AlienSkin Magazine, and Nocturnal Ooze.

Unfortunately, the natives are more interested in dancing! Work and play collide in this story of first contact. “Shermmies’ … Continue reading »

February Ongoing Challenges

This month I’m continuing the challenges I’ve been doing lately: Write 50,000+ words. Continue writing streak, currently at 106 days and counting.
